Articles

My first magazine feature was a thrilling account of tripods and how to use them. It was, arguably,
downhill all the way from then, in 1982. After that article was published, I was made Technical Editor
of Camera magazine (shows how desperate they were) and was soon churning out literally thousands
of words every month. As a freelance, Camera was a perfect launch-pad and I was soon writing for
nearly every photography magazine in the land, even contributing the odd thing or two to
US-based magazines.

After a gap imposed by the first few at years of teaching at University, I worked on the first digital
camera magazine of the UK - What Digital Camera? - founded by Simon Joinson, wrote for
Digital Photographer
(another Joinson invention) and have also written for MacUser, Computer
Arts Special, MacFormat, Digital Camera Magazine
, Digital Photographer magazine.
