Wendy had always enjoyed taking photographs but it wasn’t until she took possession of one of my
hand-me-downs – the Canon EOS-1Ds – that her photography really took off. At first dubious about
the weight of the camera, she now really enjoys its solidity. But it is its responsiveness and rapid
auto-focus that she found really liberating. As a result the quality of her shooting made a significant
leap upwards. In some situations, I was delighted that her shots were better than mine. As a result
more and more of her pictures are finding their way into my – increasingly our – books.
